Four and a half years ago, on February 18, 2021, a small piece of Exupere’s story touched down… on Mars. Yes, you read that right: our name now travels more than 225 million kilometers away from Earth, forever inscribed on a microchip attached to NASA’s Perseverance rover.
A Boarding Pass to Mars
In March 2020, NASA launched the “Send Your Name to Mars” campaign. Over 10 million people worldwide were given the chance to symbolically join this unique mission: their names etched with an electron beam onto three silicon microchips. Mounted on a special plaque, these chips journeyed across space before gently landing inside Jezero Crater.
Exupere proudly took part in this adventure and received its very own boarding pass: a one-of-a-kind ticket marking our place in the history of exploration.
